Accessible – activities are real word situations that learners commonly deal with
Intelligent – algorithms use the latest decision-making technology to mark and process learner responses and decide where to take them next
Discriminatory – Baseliner uses carefully written activities and comprehensively programmed marking routines. It will for example distinguish whether your learner can use capital letters correctly in all of the different contexts. Baseliner will therefore provide an accurate overall skill level as well as the information you need to plan their skills development.
Comprehensive – by embedding several skills in each activity rather than testing skills one at a time, your learners spend less time reading instructions. Each activity contains about 20 skills that are then computer marked. You therefore get fine-grained information that can be used for planning learning support.
Time-efficient - each activity screen takes less than 5 minutes to complete. Baseliner will provide a skill level for E1 – L1 within 3 screens, about 15 minutes. Level 2 and level 3 will take a maximum of two more screens to decide the level.
Integrated - what’s more Baseliner stores all of your learners’ outputs in one common database. Search facilities will help you analyse the levels and skills and print individual and group reports. For more sophisticated searches and reports Baseliner fully integrates into the Profiler Learning Management Database
Versions
Baseliner will be available in stand-alone, networkable and online versions. Web-server versions will be available for large organisations that want to deliver baseliner via their intranet or VLE. Fully hosted per user options will also be available for smaller organisations. Baseliner Light - a restricted 50 user version - will also be available for smaller organisations.

Profiler online
Profiler is now available online. The immediate benefits are several.
- Learners and staff - will be able to gain access to Profiler from any computer that has an Internet connection and browser
- Implementation and upgrades – will be much easier and faster
- Intranets and VLEs can be used to gain access
Large organisations with VLEs and Intranets will be able to purchase an independent web server version of Profiler.

Annual subscription 10% of purchase price
Smaller organisations with fewer users and less technical support we will be able to take advantage of a fully hosted solution.
This will be provided on a per user basis with the option of your own corporate branding.

Paper-based products
Paper diagnostic generator
Produce and print thousands of different versions of the Profiler Diagnostic.
Each time you demand a diagnostic, Paper Diagnostic Generator builds a new and different question paper.

To do this, it randomly selects one of the four versions for each skill from the bank and then allocates it to the question. You can preview and adjust individual questions on each page before printing the diagnostic for use with your learners.
Customised answer sheets and tutor mark sheets are also produced at the same time. |

Reports
Paper Diagnostic Generator comes with a report generator. It takes just one minute to enter the information from the results sheet into the report generator database. You can then produce a comprehensive report for your learner, complete with performance level and spiky profile.

Integration
The report generator is identical to the one used in main Profiler Learning Management Database. You therefore have the flexibility to cater for learners that need paper-based diagnostics but still store and manage their results as part of your Profiler database.

Paper-based tutorials
A CD Rom containing paper-based versions of each of the Profiler tutorials. Each CD contains al the tutorials covering the 35 skills for each of number, communication and ICT.
Tutorials are supplied as pdf files, so you and your learners can print them down as needed. With the network friendly version full access can be given to all staff and learners.

Improving observation
Training pack to facilitate improvements in observation of learning. Relevant to FE, schools (Key Stage 4), adult and community learning and work-based learning providers. Contains a total of four hours of filmed material presented in three boxes. Each box contains video and DVD of two lessons in post-16 education and training. The pack also includes a range of supporting printed material.
